Anyone on Sertraline 25mg as long term dose?

I was prescribed 50mg Sertraline and took the first one on Monday morning. During Monday night I had awful side effects - diarrhoea, nausea, weak and sweating on bathroom floor. The next four mornings I've taken half a tab each day. I feel the side effects are decreasing. I'm now afraid to go back to taking full tab and am wondering if half (25mg) will help my anxiety - which includes racing heart, constantly feeling on edge and can't relax. Is anyone maintaining on 25?

I have been on this dose for 3 months now and it has helped me so much!! It was never intended to be a long term fix - just to get me through a rough patch so will be weaning off of them soon! I have never been on any medication previously so not sure if this made a difference. Hope it helps you too!

I started off on 25mg. I was worried about side effects as I was already recovering from a crash c-section and sepsis so was taking strong antibiotics and morphine. I was already having side effects and I didn't think I would cope with any more. I found I got side effects for a little while every time the dose increased but they did settle down. I can't remember how long it took as I've been taking 150mg for a few years now.

I have been on them for 3 mths and the side effects were awful for the first 6 weeks. But they have helped massively the only thing I find is I'm tired but I seem to be having really vivid dreams so wondering if it’s disturbing my sleep a bit

So the side effects from 25mg have subsided. I'm going to be brave and increase to 50mg on Monday. Hopefully the side effects won't be too bad.
