Any dentists about?

Never had toothache in my life. Facing a bank holiday and typical, toothache has hit and I missed calling my dentist before they shut by five minutes.

I had to have my back molar removed last year due to damages caused by an erupting wisdom tooth. Had no pain but the damage showed up on an X-ray so it was advised I had it removed to avoid future pain.

Now, I think the pain is coming from that wisdom tooth. It looks to have moved into the gap left by my molar but is it possible that a year on it's suddenly pushed through more and is causing the ache in that side of my mouth?

I have two mouth ulcers at the moment (not in the same part of my mouth) and I'd stupidly thought that the ache was due to the soreness from them. But now I'm not so sure!

I'm loading up on painkillers tonight and I have a hot water bottle pressed against that side of my face but I'm just wondering if anyone can advise whether it's worth trying to get an out of hours appointment or wait while Tuesday and ring my dentist? I don't want to waste an emergency appointment just to be told the pain is normal for an erupting wisdom tooth!

Firstly chuck the hot water bottle m. If there is infection the heat may draw it into the facial tissue. Use ice and seill with hot salt water.

Really? No heat? I think that was working too! Either than or the painkillers have started kicking in.

Had a good look in the mirror, the wisdom tooth is definitely a lot bigger than it was a couple of weeks ago, so I'm hoping the pain today is due to it erupting and not anything sinister with my other teeth.

I never had any teeth issues until I went through two pregnancies!

NHS 111 will find you a dentist to see this weekend

I've abandoned the hot water bottle.

I didn't know whether I'd be wasting their time though, if it's just a case of the wisdom tooth moving further into the gap. If the pain starts to become unbearable I will give them a ring though, at the minute it's a bad ache. But I'm suffering from the mouth ulcers just as much, there's one on the end of my tongue and another in the crease of my lip.
