Jo malone or something else for wedding perfume?

Stumbled into a Jo Malones today for the first time. Fell in love with the mix of English oak & Redcurrant with Black cedarwood and juniper.

It’s a lot of money 😩😩

Can anyone recommend something similar? I like a woody/spicy smell I think.

Or should I just splurge? 😩

Splurge: it’s gorgeous

I love the Jo Malone scent, but the longevity is pants unless you layer up with body cream & perfume!

I’m a massive Tom Ford private collection fan for scent & longevity but it’s more eye watering than JM!

I wouldn't wear a brand new perfume for the wedding.
I would wear something that your dh to be associates with you and likes.
Buy the new perfume just as a " I've just got married!" Gift to yourself!

I don’t really wear perfume well, only alien 😩😩 I wanted one I could wear on special occasions and for it to remind me of the day.

It’s similar to Miller Harris cassis en feuille. You might be able to buy a sample on eBay.

Try a perfume parloir dupe! :)

Lasts much longer than no malone

roses2 · 03/05/2019 20:46

If you don't mind dupes you could buy Jo Malone and Tom Ford copies from Perfume Parlour? Their perfumes are strong and only £8 for 30ml. Lots of people on mumsnet rave about them.

Did you spray it on your skin OP?

I find any JM perfumes give me a really sickly headache and make me feel ill. I've tried 3 now, and have given up with them.

Never had that with any other perfume.

I’d splurge.

Wore Chanel #5 on our wedding day - I’m usually Valentina. OH always remarks when I put Chanel on, I like it Smile

Likethebattle · 03/05/2019 20:57

I wore Chanel no 5, I paid extra to have ray de parfum, eau de toilette doesn’t last as long.

FiremanKing · 03/05/2019 21:05

If you apply Vaseline and then spray perfume it lasts longer.

QueenOfIce · 03/05/2019 21:06

Look on eBay there's samples on there so you won't need to buy a full bottle.

I have the Black Cedarwood and juniper and on me it really lasts well. I love it on its own or in combination with a few other ones. I’d say if you love both scents and if the budget allows for it then you should go for it. They’re something you can enjoy on the day and afterwards too.

I got some perfume parlour dupes of a couple of jo Malone scents and wasn’t impressed. I got the oud and bergamot and velvet rose and oud and couldn’t use them they were so cloying and nowhere like the real thing.
