Mine isn't amazing but love a food thread and sharing ideas.

Breakfast will be brioche, fruit, yogurt and OJ. Saturday lunch is steak pie, mushy peas and gravy from our favorite bakery after DH has had his hair cut. Tea will be a Chinese.

Sunday and Monday same breakfast as above, lunch is ham/coleslaw/cucumber buns with dinky pork pies and salad then cornedbeef hash for tea. Not exactly the weather for it but it's what we fancied.

Healthy buys: apples, strawberries, peaches, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, broccoli

Not so healthy buys: box of After Eights, S&V pringles, carrot cake, bottle of wine

Just to add today's lunch was malt loaf with peanut butter, apple & strawberries. Tea is jacket spud with cheese, coleslaw and salad followed by bag of maltesers and glass of wine Grin

Happy Bank Holiday 🌞

Tomorrow: bacon avocado and egg (low carb breakfast of champions)
Tapas (meal out)
Red wine (lots)

Sunday: some variation on the brunch above,
roast chicken, veg
Red wine (lots)

Monday: dunno and dunno (supposed to be calorie counting for the next 3 weeks before holiday, I've done the sugar and carb detox this week!)

Well we were going to have a BBQ on Sunday but then I saw the weather forecast Angry

Hollowvictory · 03/05/2019 18:10

Aw it's the type of food my grandparents used to make pie, hash and after eights!

MintyCedric · 03/05/2019 18:18

DDs friend is staying for the weekend.

Tonight: homemade crispy chilli beef with egg fried rice and prawn crackers

Sat brekkie: Pain au choc, strawberries

They're off to XH's for BBQ in the afternoon and I've got a friend round for lunch - crusty rolls with sausages, or panini - bacon and brie or steak and cheddar, with posh crisp

Don't suppose any if us will want a proper dinner so will probably be chips, dips and popcorn

Sun: Pancakes for breakfast

Dinner at my olds. Something snacks for tea

Monday - haven't a clue!

isseywithcats · 03/05/2019 18:23

whatever aldi and iceland has to offer when i go shopping tomorrow afternoon, i buy the food then decide what to cook on a daily basis

Greengreengrass19 · 03/05/2019 18:24

@Fruityfruitcake could you share your sesame chicken recipe please? Smile

lucysmam · 03/05/2019 18:55

Breakfast is usually toast when we're not at school/work.

Lunch will be pasta, or rice with veggies or something like that.

Tomorrow's tea is frozen pizzas, chips and coleslaw - probably raid the pickles too.

Sunday is roast chicken with all the trimmings.

And Monday pasta bake with salad and maybe a crusty baguette too.

Takeaway

Fruityfruitcake · 03/05/2019 19:30

Chicken breast cut into strips, coat in egg then flour mixed with sesame seeds then fry, adding a little sesame oil towards the end. In a separate pan I finely chop 1 red pepper, 1 red chilli and 2 spring onions a d fry In a teeny bit of oil. When cooked add a good glug of soy sauce and a table spoons of honey and cook till sticky. Put the chicken on the wrap, pour over sauce and a little cheese. Very tasty!

Fruityfruitcake · 03/05/2019 19:32

@Greengreengrass19 Forgot to tag you in the recipe! If I'm short of time I use Birds eye sesame chicken instead!

HeyMicky · 03/05/2019 19:44

Tomorrow we're out at a 40th; DCs will have sausage pasta.

Sunday we've got tickets to Endgame, so popcorn for dinner for me and DH. DCs are having salmon and veg.

BBQ Sunday.

All lunches will be bread, cheese, cold meat, salad etc

MrsJonesAndMe · 03/05/2019 19:44

Fri: curry
Sat: gorgeous tortellini & salad
Sun: no idea
Mon: BBQ

Ivegotthree · 03/05/2019 19:52

Er.... I've made a ragu so we will have spag bol at some point, probably tomorrow.

Prob a roast on Sunday, then meeting friends in the pub for lunch on Monday.

Supper will be last minute, low key things eg scrambled eggs or I might make some smoked mackerel pate and a nice to some salad.

Think we'd better make an effort to eat the bloody Easter eggs too - the house is awash with them.

Stravapalava · 03/05/2019 19:54

Tonight: Chinese! Mixed starters, DH having chicken curry, I'm having salt & pepper prawns, DC1 is still up so will share some bits & bobs. Singapore noodles & boiled rice.

Usual breakfast tomorrow, probably feed the DC at soft play, DH will likely finish off the leftover chinese and I'm doing beef & root veg stew for tea with tiger rolls.

Sunday I'm at work so will have our main meal at lunch - salmon & pesto pasta probably. Taking soup to work and DH and the DC will probably have something like dippy eggs or beans on toast for tea.

Monday I'm at work again, spinach & ricotta cannelloni for lunch and will take soup or salad to work. Again, DH is in charge of tea, so toasties or something.

@Fruityfruitcake thanks so much sounds amazing!! Can you serve with rice?

Fruityfruitcake · 03/05/2019 20:57

@Greengreengrass19 Yeah you could, or actually would be nice on top of noodles now I'm thinking about it! We tend to have it on a wrap for lunch :-)

thatmustbenigelwiththebrie · 03/05/2019 21:07

You are all so organised.

I will wander down to co op at some point, pick something off a shelf and wander back once a day and whatever that thing is will be eaten.

MrsDilligaf · 03/05/2019 21:45

Not a clue. Going to visit family from tomorrow until Monday afternoon, so whatever my parents decide to feed me!

I'm fairly sure I'll have a couple of drinks though...
