Extreme Headache Cure!

Morning! Felt like sharing my week in case it helps anyone else.
Sunday night I stood up at work and felt an explosion type pain in my head. It hadn’t stopped by Wednesday so I went to my GP who was sure I’d had a bleed on my brain 😟. I was in agony but a scan showed nothing. A brilliant doctor yesterday had the idea to do a lumbar puncture to test the fluid in my spine and believed it may reduce the pressure in my skull and cure the problem. I’ve just woke up and so far ( I haven’t tried to stand up yet ) I’m not in pain!
Pointless post maybe, but anyone suffering from extreme migraine which this doctor believes this may have been even though I have never had migraines, should maybe push for this? There is definitely less pressure in my head IYSWIM. Hopefully sharing this helps someone suffering this. The pain was indescribable. Sympathy for anyone suffering these types of headache regularly. It’s awful.

Isn’t a lumbar puncture extremely painful as well though?

The headache and the lumbar puncture both sound horrendous, so I’m glad you feel better now.

Have they said it will happen again or what caused it?

It must have been really bad if you think a lumbar puncture is preferred to the headache.

Thank you. Didn’t find the puncture painful it’s more a pressure feeling? Yes I was in agony. It’s been suggested that my vomiting after certain tannin rich food is connected so will explore that. Hoping the fluid drainage can help someone else in pain though. I don’t think every hospital will automatically do it I’ve been told. I hope someone else gets relief from it
