I have a half erupted top wisdom tooth.
Had an infection so dentist prescribed A week of Metronidazole which I've now finished as well as cleaning and salt water rinsing.
The problem is the gum still hurts. Not as badly but it's still a bit sore- Mainly when I brush it it's painful and bleeds a little. Should I be pain free now if the infection is gone?
Or will it take longer not to hurt?
do I need to go back to the dentist?
Worrying as it'll need to be emergency before bank holiday.
Thanks!

Hi, course it's sore it's halfway through tissue, just carry on doing what you're doing, keep it nice and clean and eat on the other side. It can take ages to erupt fully.

I have a partially erupted wisdom as well. Have had 2 infections in it now and had those antibiotics both times.

In my experience, once I'd finished the antibiotics it wasn't sore but it may not be still infected. Could you have bruised it if your brushing it etc? If it's not painful I would leave for a day and see if it calms down on it's own
