Appendix vs ovarian issues

I'm meant to be at hospital today to do my first check post radiotherapy. That hospital is a plane journey away. Instead I'm in my local hospital undergoing scams, bloods etc so they can work out whether I have an appendix problem or an ovary problem. I'm nil by mouth though. I've just come off steroids and all I can think about is food! 26hr so far and if I am going to have an op, good knows how many hours more.

That’s a long wait. What were you diagnosed with initially? Have you had surgery previously?

IWantToUseAnApostrophy · 03/05/2019 00:21

Had an emergency keyhole appendectomy at 7.10 and have eaten today's lunch! Is it meant to feel like you've been punched in the stomach? I'm struggling to move cos my waist to pelvis is agony!

Ah I imagine thats worse than a punch in the guts. Glad you have eaten. Hope they are giving you good pain relief.

Oral morphine, paracetamol (I never realised how bloody amazing they are till I had my previous surgery!) but no chocolate and they keep forgetting my tea! I have a frog in my throat from the breathing tube and it hurts so much to cough 😢

I’m shocked they are forgetting your tea! That’s something they are usually good at!!
Hope you can have chocolate soon. I’m a tea fiend and chocoholic too.
I haven’t been through anything like this. The title of your post stood out to me because my friend had pmp a couple of years ago. Prob not similar to you but I know how difficult that whole experience was for her. The treatment and the waiting and uncertainty too.

Yep. It hurts and will hurt a lot for a few days and get gradually better over about 3 weeks.
I'm surprised they fed you lunch. I was water only for 36 hrs after mine.
