I mostly listen to 70s onwards so no favourite 60s album but...

70s - The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars (David Bowie)
80s - Upstairs at Eric's (Yazoo)
90s - Different Class (Pulp)
00s - Love Ire & Song (Frank Turner)
2010s - Opposites (Biffy Clyro)

Just realised that they're all British acts! Surprising because I feel like overall I probably listen to more American bands on the whole.

1970's - Probably Fleetwood Mac, Roxy Music, David Bowie or UB40. Somewhere in there would also be Donna Summer - On The Radio. Jean Michel Jarre would probably top the lot though based on my i-tunes top played.

1980's - Sade but Fleetwood Mac would also figure, Tango In The Night. Then there is Spandau Ballet's True. Gloria Estefan would also figure based on plays. She went through a run of strong hits in the mid to late 1980's.

1990's - Madonna's Ray of Light in the late 1990's, it was pretty groundbreaking. Bjork and George Michael also figure.

2000's - Jamiroqui - Funk Odyssey, Dido, but probably more into earlier stuff.

2010's - Lana Del Rey, Alina Baraz, Bjork would figure again.

Too many to pick a favourite really.

That's such an impossible ask because I like so many genres of music that they aren't comparable within a decade.
In terms of artists from each decade:
60s:
Joni Mitchell
Crosby Stills Nash and Young ( and their individual components)
The Doors
Aretha Franklin
Fairport Convention
Pink Floyd
James Brown
Van Morrison
Pentangle
Jimi Hendrix
The Beach Boys
Tim Buckley

70s:
All of the above plus
Patti Smith
Blondie
The B52s
The Meters
Roxy Music
New York Dolls
Fleetwood Mac
The Stones

80s:
A lot of the above who were still going plus
Billy Bragg
The Jam
U2
The Cult
Beastie Boys
Dexys
The Smiths
Stone Roses
Jesus and Mary Chain/Primal Scream

90s:
An awful lot of Hip hop
Blur
Oasis
Beck
Nirvana
Nine Inch Nails
Pavement
Radiohead

00s:
Elliot Smith
Sufjan Stevens
Arctic Monkeys
Turin Brakes
Gomez
Portishead
Black Keys
Civil Wars
Jurassic 5
St Paul and the broken bones

Every single one in that list has made a "classic" album - picking one is impossible.
Finding new music is so exhilarating- get on Spotify and get cracking!

Thanks!! Agree with pp and also think that re-finding music is awesome too, I’ve reminded myself of songs I used to love and haven’t heard in years and years. Definitely going to download some suggestions above.

Pls answer in anyway you see fit, I know it is impossible to appoint a fave but I didn’t want to ask too much of you lovely lot Grin
