I know... casting a broad net here. But I need ideas!
I'm looking for a non-resort kind of hotel (not bothered about kids' clubs, all inclusive, airport transfers etc) where you can wander onto the beach with minimum fuss.
Not a fancy infinity-pool-and-couples-massage place. Just somewhere nice and friendly, big or small, where you can sit on your tiny balcony and see the sunset then go out for a stroll in the old town, and where taking DD6 to the beach involves nothing more strenuous than crossing a promenade.
So that describes about one trillion European hotels, but I don't know where to start. Have previously stayed in places like this in Soller, Lake Garda and a quiet bit of Sitges. Does anyone have an old favourite to offer? Or a seaside town or small city to recommend?
