Help! It’s my sisters suprise 30th birthday party 2 weeks after my due date, I want to be organised and get a dress ready but how do I no what to go for? Once I’ve had the baby will a lot of my belly be the same size or will it be where it is now? Do I buy maternity dress even though I won’t be pregnant when I wear it?

Thanks!

You’ll probably have a very big bump still. I find anything that goes in under the bust draws attention to this. You want something straight up and down instead.

If your DC is like my DS1 you might be pregnant still (he eventually came that day). I would want an extremely comfy dress in case you’ve had a C-section. Find one you can easily feed from (assuming you plan to breastfeed).

Yeah I am also worried about going over and missing it but it can’t be helped I guess :) will go with the straight style dress on standby incase I’m there :) thanks for your advice x

i went to a wedding when my daughter was 12 days old. I wasn't sure if she would even have been born yet so bought a dress that was quite loose and flattering on the bottom and also i would be able to breastfeed from (lowish cut). I still had quite a wobbly belly but thankfully the dress hid that quite well.

I mean, I really wouldn’t have been up for this after any of my births but I suppose everyone is different!

Floaty dresses and leggings are probably your best bet. You will still have a sizeable bump and leaking engorged breasts.
