Was pointed here as a possible help to find a book a read a while back and cant remmeber the title. Here is a vague description to the best of my recollection:
The main character is dropped off at some warrior - like training organization, they train from young boys to young men..i think they were used by a " church" ( fantasy) to hunt magic users? Unclear...the main character has a friend who grows hp with him that you find out during a training exercise where they take the young men way out into the wilds, let them go..and force them to come back within like, three days? During this training , protagonist friend is killed by some kind of evil critter that takes his place...unbeknownst to the main character..until later in life, when he is forced to kill him...than finds out these beings inhabit the world...he also realizes he is being used to hunt down and destroy magic users...he can feel them? Maybe? This is all in book one....i believe at some point his country is overrun by a foreign empire...thats about all i can recollect....anyone recognize the book( not blood song) i would sure appreciate it!! Thanks
