Thinking of treating myself.

I have a day off coming up when my children will be in school/childcare and l am going to do something for me, although it’s not a spa or getting my hair done or anything like that.

I’m going to pay someone to

Clean my oven,
The inside of my windows,
The carpets and do a deep clean of my kitchen and bathrooms.

I work full time and have been having a big declutter lately and feel like l am on first name terms with man at the tip. Even though it’s not something lovely and relaxing it is something for me as it will make me feel mentally better. I might also get someone in to do the garden for two hours and get my car valeted. If l had time l think l might get my hair done but l don’t think l could fit all that in really. My friend and my sister think it’s a silly idea and a waste of money as l could do it myself. The thing is every time people give me birthday money l always spend it on stuff for the kids or the house as l don’t really “need” anything, my sister says this isn’t the type of thing she thinks people want me to treat myself too. l think it would give me the best nights sleep ever. I am also unsure about weather l would tell my husband l paid for it to be done or just pretend l done it myself and win some housewife points.

Fabulous!
I'm jealous :-)

Sounds bloody amazing.

Get them booked in early starts so you have time to sit and enjoy your pristine house before children come home and wreck it Grin

Sounds perfect and is something I've considered myself. Spending my birthday money on a few hours deep clean of the house, all the bits I can't be arsed to do myself. It's the same concept as a spa day, as far as I'm concerned and the effect would last longer too.

Best use of money is when it’s gone on something that will make an overall improvement to your life.
Be that a spa day, a holiday or home improvements - that’s totally up to you.
I’d book it all in and get my hair done while it’s being done, when I’ve had my carpets cleaned before I wasn’t able to walk on them for a while anyway so I just went out.
Tell your husband you’ve paid for it to be done, it’s a ginormous undertaking for one day, he should know it’s too much for you to do (or want to do) on a rare day off!
