I am! It's really good. That little boy in Japan was a real eye opener!!

SimonJT · 01/05/2019 21:36

I’m tempted to watch it at the weekend, but I’m always wary of parenting type things as they just tend to highlight what a crap job I’m doing!

Honeyroar · 01/05/2019 21:39

I'm really enjoying it.

Don't worry, it's not really about parenting.

AuldJosey · 01/05/2019 21:39

It's more about the kids than parenting so far anyway!

I would worry about my 11 year old getting through London on his own and we've been loads of times!

TheBigFatMermaid · 01/05/2019 21:43

It's really helping me. MY DD is starting at a college around 15 miles away by bus, then about a half a mile walk. She will be just 14 the month before she starts. I was nervous about her doing it, but I know she has a tongue in her head and is not afraid to use it. She will be fine, she will be fine, she will be fine................

Ionlymakegirls · 01/05/2019 21:49

Me!! Very fasinating, eye opening and interesting.

The children though Grin
I have smiled all the way through

AuldJosey · 01/05/2019 21:51

Love the 2 five year olds detouring by the playground!

I'll watch it at the weekend if it's as good as you're all saying. Smile

It's fascinating.... And so cute.... We took our seven and four year old to London recently and didn't let them out of our sight for a second;)
Though the four year old did escape out of the garden through an open gate recently with her pram and paw patrol teddies. She had gone a good distance up the road before I realized she was gone and she was super pissed off when I found her;) she was having a grand old time

ineedaholidaynow · 01/05/2019 21:59

It is fascinating. I would be a nervous wreck though if I was one of the parents!

I think I would struggle finding my way on a London Bus too. Live in a rural area where very little bus travel. Would usually use the Tube when go to London. It's interesting that the bus driver said that if a young child got on the bus alone they have to phone the police.

AuldJosey · 01/05/2019 22:00

Aw, very cute programme! I'm not sure I'd have accomplished it myself!

Interesting about the twin dynamic.

Would highly recommend watching for cuteness factor and just fascination really!

if they really had no help it's quite impressive but not so long ago kids did do this when I was a kid no -one over 6 Mother collected them from school they may have walked with mum in morning if had a younger sibling ( YR) but by the time I was in the equivalent of Y3 I was expected to walk home with Y1 sister, I would be given money to go half a mile to newsagents to pay the bill for getting newspaper delivered
because I have some hearing loss my DD has known since she was 2 that there is not point screaming MUM I won't hear her if she needs me she needs to come and get me

Myfanwyprice · 01/05/2019 23:01

I found that fascinating, I would be so interested to see how my dc would cope (I fear they would end up arguing!) I got a bit emotional when they made it, what an achievement.

AuldJosey · 01/05/2019 23:26

It was funny how one took charge except for the 5 year olds. They were just let loose lol - no fucks were given!

Anyone watching "When I grow Up"?

Samcro · 02/05/2019 21:36

Just watched
Omg what cute children

AuldJosey · 02/05/2019 22:16

I haven't watched When I grow Up, but have watched another one today which was interesting - How other children live or something? It was Channel 4. It was interesting too. How totally they can not understand another way of life etc.

Love Planet Children possibly because they gave them a really tough task! And the two doctors occasionally commenting was interesting.
