Child free weddings - the Royals?

Following on from numerous threads about child free weddings, my thoughts were they are probably considered a bit retro.
I remember them being fun as a child but the whole kids sliding across the dance floor on their knees and drinking champagne under the table is all a bit cliche now. It’s a rare chance for a posh adult celebration these days which is fair enough I think.

So then I was thinking about Royals. I know they have page boys and girls but what happens to them. I don’t recall guests bringing children. What happens to the little kids? Some appear at the balcony and then ai guess that’s it? And if it’s ok for Royals to not invite children why does MN think it terribly rude. Or do they have children there?
Anyone enlighten me?

If you noticed they were only there at the beginning of the ceremony and then vanished, presumably into a room somewhere with an army of nannies until they were ready to be photographed. All the photos of Kate herding the kids were hilarious because she only did it for 10mins at a time (and probably only to the Nanny).
