Does anyone else hate being that customer?

The type of customer who gets all firm and insistent and is on the phone for ages before a problem is sorted out.

I hate being that customer. But sometimes things go wrong and they won't listen, and the only way to get it sorted out is to keep on insisting. I'm sure the person on the phone hates me, and I feel so bad about it, but otherwise how are you supposed to get the problem sorted?

I've worked in customer facing jobs myself and if there's anything I can't do, I put them through to a supervisor or specialist straight away as they'll be more able to deal with the problem.

I'm so conflicted about the whole thing. Every time I spend time getting a problem sorted out, I end up feeling annoyed that they put me through it, but I also feel bad.

Don't feel bad. People don't generally willingly call a company unless they have a problem (I don't anyway, I try to avoid call centres at all costs), and the problem is almost certainly going to be the company's fault. So they should sort it out.

It amazes me how so many queries only get resolved when the press get involved. Is it really that difficult?
