Good morning all. My DD has been throwing up this morning. The weird thing is she has been sick for the past three Mondays and last Tuesday. She was fine this week until this morning when she was sick three times. She now has a rash on both her cheeks. She has no temperature and her appetite is fine.
I am taking her to the GP later but I have to say I’m concerned, has anyone experienced anything like this? She seems happy in school and has lots of friends.

Vomiting and a rash... Some kind of allergy?

Reaah · 01/05/2019 11:21

School, what's happening at school? Any signs of bullying?

Hoggytat · 01/05/2019 11:22

Is there anything she's eating or drinking at the weekend that she doesn't eat the rest of the week?

Also ask her what lessons does she have on a Monday. Is anything bothering her eg changing in PE lessons (not being quick enough to change?).

If happens the same time each week I would suggest an issue at school, but that pattern appears to have changed.

The addition of the rash I too am inclined to think allergy/intolerance to something. Can you remember what she may have eaten prior to each episode? maybe keep a food diary and see if anything emerges.

Hmm. I found school PE so intimidating I started getting migraines on Mondays. Started at about 12.

Ispini · 01/05/2019 11:35

Thank you all for your messages and suggestions. She does hate PE and has it on Tuesdays so that could be a connection. She has had allergies in the past so I will mention to the GP. Food for though,I will update later, hopefully the GP will give some good advice. Thanks all.

My DS went through a phase of vomiting on Saturday nights/Sundays and we worked out that it usually followed us eating out in a restaurant at the weekend. His favourite foods when eating out are mac and cheese and sticky toffee pudding. We've found that if he eats one but not the other he's fine but if he eats both he will be sick that night or the day after. He's 9yo.
It could be something like that, maybe she's overindulging at the weekend and her tummy can't handle it?

Ispini · 02/05/2019 00:28

Sorry for the late update. The GP checked her thoroughly and we will keep a food diary. He is happy there is nothing serious go8ng on. The rash was caused by retching and vomiting. Thanks for all advice and suggestions. 😀

Have you kept a diary of what she has over the weekend? Is it something she only eats at weekends which causing Mondays and Tuesdays to be bad. How was she over the Easter holiday?

Blackandpurple · 02/05/2019 07:06

I remember my DD doing this on a Saturday night. Being 12 and hungry she would eat sone crisps and have pop. Then few hours later throw up. We found out it was after eating Skips. So we banned them and it stopped. Funnily DS is now 11 and if we are out during the evening and stop off in Mcdonalds on the way home i cant sllow DS to have nuggets. He’s thrown up a few times after eating them/going to bed. During the day he would be fine!

Very odd.
