Been signed off for the week and the cat is pissed off with me

I’ve obviously disrupted her plans!

Whenever anyone else is ill she curls up with them. I have been loudly yowled at for still being home and eventually she’s walked out in disgust......

Had a GA so can’t drive until tomorrow, been given a return to work note for next week and I’m bored. I live rurally so buses are hit and miss and tbh probably not a great idea to be stuck on a once an hour bus timetable in case I start to feel rough (at home you don’t exactly exert yourself).
Looks like it will be a day sat on the floor chucking out out of date food that’s gotten hid at the back of the cupboard and trying to Kondo with the boxes I bought in the ‘I will get my life sorted’ phase and finishing off decopatching the cats treat box.....

I’m so fed up of my own company....

I'm sorry to hear this, I hope you get better soon. My cat decided to sleep on top of my head at 3 am and wake me up & I wasn't ae to go back to sleep. I feel ill, nauseous from lack of sleep and I've got a full day networking event that I'm organising l. I don't even know what day it is, I feel rotten & need coffee and I hate my cat atm. My cat realised that she was naughty so has taken to hiding under the bed!

Foslady · 01/05/2019 09:04

Oh no Moorfields - good luck powering through the day.
I’m going to leave mine tonget over herself for an hour or so - she might just like me again then!!!

I sometimes frequently wonder why we have cats at all. They are the very definition of 'user', treat us with total disdain, trample all over us, literally and figuratively; shed hair constantly; fussy as hell to feed unless they are stealing something unsuitable.

And yet we love them and put up with their tantrums and their mess.

Mine has spent all winter super-glued to his favourite chair and having to be pushed out the door as I am not prepared to clean a litter tray for no good reason aside from his laziness. Spring arrives and he decides camping out is the new best thing and even tries to demand being fed outside. I am sure the neighbours think the pathetic black and white bundle under the hedge is totally neglected and unloved. He's 18 so I doubt he will change his ways now!

Good luck Foslady, I fear you are in for at least a day of sulks.

Ha OP this reminds me of those posters who work from home and complain about their OHs hanging around the house making a nuisance of themselves - you're obviously cramping her style! 😂

I'm off work today; Dcat1 and dcat2 are off out doing their usual but dcat3 is DELIGHTED and is following me around bossing me about Hmm and demanding attention - it's a good job she's the cutest thing in the world Grin

Hope you feel better soon!

Thanks everyone! You’d have thought she’d have been more sympathetic considering I had to rush her up to the vets the other week for yet more cystitis medication (too busy lazing in the sun to eat and drink properly Hmm) and when you’re 16 you have to get the sun on those bones.......
All that fussing she got, all that cooked meat rather than cat food....,and now she’s outside waiting for dp to return to fob me in for not working (sorry dcat - he already knows!!!)

Do what to the treat box ???????

Foslady · 01/05/2019 11:15

Toddler craft as dd calls it - ripping and sticking! The bottom half has pink cats and dogs on it, the lid is being done with the pink paper

My dog hates it when I occasionally work from home. He just sits on his sofa and stares at me. I know hes waiting for me to leave.
And yet Saturdays/Sundays he loves my company!

Foslady · 01/05/2019 11:24

Apologies, not sure if I’ve double posted Blush

When we have a week off together our cat gives distinct vibes of "I wish they'd both sod off so I can sleep in peace"

MarieVanGoethem · 01/05/2019 17:46

My cats get a bit fussed/anxious over me Not Smelling Right whenever I’m discharged from hospital. Their approach to this is to attempt to rescent me from head to toe (who doesn’t want to be vigorously headbutted all over?) & try to stealthily give me a wash when I’m asleep (we have a No Grooming The Human policy, which is apparently vvv unreasonable of me). Can see some felines might react to discombobulating Wrong Smell by avoiding their human until it fixed things & started smelling as it should. As she’s an elderly lady she probably likes her routine & thinks you should know better than to disrupt it. Hope she forgives you & snuggles are forthcoming soon.

(As a side note: decoupaged treats box?! You shouldn’t be putting things like that online; you’ll forment unrest amongst the pets of MN who read over the shoulders of MNers...)

Moorfields · 01/05/2019 18:29

How are you feeling today op?
I survived today by drinking gallon loads of coffee & moving around a lot. I was petrified that I'd fall asleep if I sat down so kept on the move!

ShannonRockallMalin · 01/05/2019 18:37

I'm signed off work at the moment too, but my cats love the company a bit too much. I was planning a little nap on the sofa earlier, but someone decided to get in first!

I finished work early today and ddog was distinctly unimpressed that I had interrupted his snoozing time to take him out for a walk. Ungrateful git.

Foslady · 01/05/2019 18:46

In myself I feel great - no pain or anything, but I have been in such a bad mood with myself all day, no wonder the cat has stayed away from me!!!!
I’m currently sorting out one last cupboard - I’ve discovered party bags in there from about 10 years ago! (I’ve lost count of the amount of tea I’ve drunk), treat box almost finished (just gaps to do).
Hope everyone else is feeling ok. Tomorrow has to be better - it’s my birthday!!

You live in a house with a cat. You do not own a cat, it owns you.

Happynow001 · 01/05/2019 19:57

Happy birthday for tomorrow @Foslady! 🌹🍷🍰 21 I suppose?? 😄 🐈

Foslady · 01/05/2019 20:04
