Anyone fancy a guess the song challenge...

...because I can't remember anything useful enough for Google and it's driving me crackers.

It might be a bit obscure but got to be worth a try! Ok, it is a bit obscure and I can't remember any of the lyrics either...

It's a bloke singing to a woman who is going off to be with someone else. It's all about how much he loves her but basically hopes that she'll be happy. I'm pretty sure the new bloke isn't good enough for her. And I think they're enjoying their last few moments together.

That's about all I've got. It's not a recent song, but I'm not sure how old it is. It's got a bit of a ballady feel, possibly with a slight hint of country.

Help me MN! Please?!

Far slower, and more ballad than country IYSWIM.

He's singing directly to her rather than about her. To be honest he's a bit of a sap/ narc/ fuckwit and if he was singing to me I'd just run a mile. So many red flags.

He's not what I'd call a household name either.

I've been googling fruitlessly for about 5 hours...

Reasons you must be lucky. Definitely not Bruno, though I could listen to him for hours.

Fireman more recent than the Everly Brothers and less recent than Bruno Mars or Gotye. The second one is a definite no -Too wrinkly and twee, the last one is a no as well but right up my street regardless.
