We live in London but I'm all out of inspiration! It will be just me and DP, we're open to any cuisine, bargain or moderately priced, no fine dining, somewhere with good food and fairly relaxed. We're in east London but happy to travel elsewhere in town. Thanks!

Had a nice pub lunch in crown and sceptre just down from BBC one show studio last week. I have also had a nice meal at The Clarence a few times. I am not a Londoner but a tourist so my choices may not appeal to locals.

Boulevard in Covent garden for a late lunch. My favourite place to go and great fish and chips according to dc. Mussels and a pinot noir for me.

rustybike.pub/

don't be put off by the plethora of football games being advertised on the website, the thai food is authentic and amazing, well worth a visit

Le Relais de Venise. It's a small chain, our favourite is Marylebone but there's Dean Street, Canary Wharf

There’s a home made pasta place in Borough Market which is so popular the queues are legendary. Forgot the name but it’s amazing.

Ethos, just off Oxford Street has the most amazing veggie and vegan food and they do it as a pay by weight (expect to pay c. £15 for well filled plate). It's all buffet so you can choose a great variety

Even my committed meat eater of an ex loved it.

Yep Padella in Borough Market is the pasta place. Lobos tapas place is just round the corner from there and also excellent. B street Deli on Bermondsey street for cheese and meat platters. Flour and grape and Tanner and co are brilliant and also on Bermondsey street. Can you tell I'm an SE1 native? Grin

Thanks everyone, loads of ideas

Nnnineteen, I've passed the Rusty Bike pub so many times but never tried it. I definitely will at some point thanks to your recommendation Smile

Another vote for Le Relais as well.

Poppies fish and chips

Dishoom but don't go at busy times as the queues are hellish.

The Diner on Ganton street for Byron-But-better type burgers ( there's another one in Spitalfields)

The Gun on Brushfield street for really good pub food and craft beer

Mildred's on Lexington street if you're after veggie or vegan

Kin and Deum for Thai

Bancone on William IV street or Vasco and Piero on Poland street for Italian.

Try the Greedy Cow in Just by Mile End Station. A family run restaurant and a really nice atmosphere and excellent food.

Don’t know where just came from. It should read 2 Grove Road
