It's the wrong bloody size !

I bought a metal shed the invoice says it's 6feet x 5feet. Having spent 7 hours putting it together, I thought it looked a bit small so measured it and it's only 6ft x 4ft.

There was no size printed on the box it came in and the sides are made up of individual panels that had to be screwed together so it wasn't obvious it was the wrong size until the sodding thing was finished.

It was an absolute bugger to build as well. I've emailed the company but will they say it's my fault for not measuring it before I put it together?

Where did you buy it from?

OddCat · 30/04/2019 20:29

A company called Shed Store

Hmm, I'd contact them again and threaten them with the small claims court if they don't rectify. If they've missold a product then the fault is entirely theirs.

OddCat · 30/04/2019 20:47

Would it be my fault though for not measuring it before putting it together?

Why should you measure it before putting it together?
They should have sent you what you ordered!
If it is not bespoke, or tailored to you in any way, I'd quite Consumer Rights Act 2015
www.which.co.uk/consumer-rights/regulation/consumer-rights-act

Thank you, I'll see what they say in reply to my email.

Actually, if the goods sent are not what you ordered, I would argue that you don't have a contract at all

I really want a shed that is 6x5 , I wonder if they'll ask me to return the shed I have put together ( hope not because its too big to post and I don't want to have to dismantle it!)
