My periods have been erratic last couple of years but now they’re just not really coming at all . I had a 45 day heavy bleed from middle of Jan to end of Feb , another 4 days of heavy bleeding a week later , then one day of spotting a week later .
I’ve not had anything since at all . I’m constipated , my breasts are sore/dry (my nips are cracked and flaky) and I’m massively bloated with fluid retention in legs and my belly (scales say I’ve gained 5lb in 4 days). Palpitations a lot and always exhausted .
I have gained a lot of weight in the last year - 6 stone - and was sent to gynae who said I had a functional cyst and PCOS with most hormones out of whack . Said no treatment at all except to lose weight - no matter what I do I’m gaining , rapidly - clothes that fit one week don’t the next .
I’m not sure what to do and feel I am going mad . GP said it’s not really a medical issue - PCOS is apparently inevitable once you gain so much weight ? She said if I lose 10 stone or so I won’t have PCOS anymore ..
Have a huge family history of thyroid with most of my dad’s family badly affected . I’ve had thyroid bloods ten years ago though and normal back then so presume not much would have changed .
I’m gutted as can’t fit my bloody jacket that went on fine a fortnight ago despite making lifestyle changes eg sleeping more, trying to do some exercise, eating more fruit and veg - don’t know what to do for the best .
