Last week DS (10yo) has had a diagnosis of an under-active thyroid. Largely spotted as he was not growing in height.
I am fairly clued up having had exactly the same issue since shortly after he was born. I will advocate for him (eg to make sure he is on the right dose for symptoms, not just one that takes him within thresholds on his blood test etc)
We have a prescription of thyroxine and an appointment at the hospital on Friday.
Are there issues/areas I need to be aware of for him (different to middle-aged women) please? Anyone got any experience with their DCs?
Would appreciate if anyone has learned stuff they can share - or is it pretty much the same as for an adult?
Thank you
