Nervous breakdown, Fibro, burnout...

Bear with me while i witter and chunter and work this out.

In the 80's, people who were extremely stressed would 'have a nervous breakdown'.
People talked about 'burn out'.

Now we talk about being 'signed off with stress', and there is also CFS and Fibromyalgia which can come on after significant stress.

I know a lot of women around 50 who find life very heavy going. Presumably if HRT makes it better then it's menopause related.

Do you think these things are related? I feel burnt out- I've been very active, motivated, involved in lots of different things some of which were extremely stressful. Then I had a couple of bereavement and associated stresses. Now I have nothing left. No drive, no motivation. I'm tired all the time and most bits hurt these days!

I'm knocking 50 and trying HRT. I've had blood tests and have been taking thyroxine, VitD and iron. Still feel rubbish.

I'm not looking for online diagnoses, really, just a chat about what it is like to be 50.
