Where’s nice to live between London and Biggleswade?

We currently live in Glasgow, so not sure on areas down south at all. DH has been given the possibility of a years secondment in Biggleswade and we would love to live somewhere between there and London, with no more than a 40 min commute to Biggleswade.
We’ve primary aged DC.
Can you recommend some nice places to live? We don’t have much criteria, just a nice family town/village that’s close to the buzz of London but no further than 40 min drive to Biggleswade.

Biggleswade is s nice place in itself op so look there.
You can get fast trains into London from there, 30 mins into London by train

Hitchin and Baldock are both nice towns, with decent connections to both London and Biggleswade.

Barnet and Golders Green a no from me op/ used to be lovely years ago but not v pleasant now-
Look at hitchin/st Albans/Welwyn garden city.
