How can this be normal?!

My three year old DD has today started with her fifth cold of 2019. The last one was 2.5 weeks ago, and the one before was 3 weeks before that. When she has colds, she struggles with wheeze, so needs to use her blue inhaler regularly and coughs a lot. The wheeze element doesn’t tend to last too long though (48 hours max usually). She also has a brown inhaler and takes Montelukast at night when unwell as doctors suspect asthma.

I know kids get a lot of colds but really, is this normal?! She’s been going to the same nursery 3 days a week since she was 10 months old, so it’s not like she’s just started preschool or anything, yet this is the worst run of colds she’s had. I read somewhere that kids normally have 6-8 colds in a year, she’s on 5 for 2019 and it’s not even May!

Anyone else experienced this?
