I saw that. The article says it's going to be really hot this bank holiday weekend Confused

BBC predictions for this weekend on weather app - 17 degrees Confused

And I'm in London, usually the warmest place.

happypotamus · 29/04/2019 10:05

I fucking hope not. I have to go to work and my work is hotter than the depths of hell. Last summer was horrible there.

BarkandCheese · 29/04/2019 10:07

Doesn’t the Mail and the other tabloids do that every spring, along with a story every autumn about how the coming winter is going to be snowmaggedon? Occasionally they’re right in a stopped clock is right twice a day way, but I wouldn’t take it seriously.

IVEgottheDECAF · 29/04/2019 10:12

No heatwave please! Nice sunny weather yes. Heatwave, no. I will be toooooo pregnant for a heatwave!

Likethebattle · 29/04/2019 10:14

In Scotland we don’t usually get good weather.

BigSandyBalls2015 · 29/04/2019 10:17

“Hottest day of the year so far ....” this always amuses me .... yes because it’s bloody mid April!!

Bobbindobbin · 29/04/2019 10:48

I love the sun but nothing too hot.

outsho · 29/04/2019 12:26

I think it had already started getting hot this time last year and it just seemed to last an eternity. I was pregnant and incredibly miserable throughout, my DP had to deal with much complaining Grin.

Not a fan of the heat personally. Anything between 16 and 20 degrees is fine by me.

Emmabryant123 · 29/04/2019 12:28

God I hope not my dd suffers terribly in the heat

tobee · 29/04/2019 14:45

I forgot there was a Bank Holiday coming up - misses point of thread as they say

DontTouchMyCurls · 29/04/2019 15:15

Sorry, but the Met Office said not true and they don't know where this rumour came from...

uk.yahoo.com/news/met-office-says-there-will-be-no-may-bank-holiday-heatwave-caused-by-spanish-plume-102248315.html

SnuggyBuggy · 29/04/2019 15:19

I hope not, last year's was awful

Troels · 29/04/2019 15:39

No thanks, last summer was a hard slog at work, the building was so hot, and stupid people kept opening the blinds on the sunny side "as the sun is so lovely out" Not on the back of the head of an elderly person who is borderline dehydrated it isn't.

DuggeesWoggle · 29/04/2019 15:43

Another one hoping for a mild summer as I will be heavily pregnant (due September) with a pre schooler to wrangle and an office that gets extremely hot. And a South facing bedroom. Last time I was pregnant my ankles were so swollen by 8 months and that was late autumn so I dread to think what a July heatwave will do to me!!

ClashCityRocker · 29/04/2019 15:50

Doesn't this happen every year, as well as the 'met Office predicts three months of freezing temperatures!'...

And when you dip down they mean it might get to below 0 overnight regularly in Dec Jan Feb. So yeah, winter.

DippyAvocado · 29/04/2019 15:53

That'll be the death knell for the prospects of a decent summer then. We just need to look for a headline that promises a "BBQ Summer!" to know that we are destined for 3 months of drizzle.

RosaWaiting · 29/04/2019 15:56

I hope not, it was hellish last year in London

I think it started around the bank holiday as well....by mid June the grass in the local park was either gone or yellow. Awful it was.

PristineCondition · 29/04/2019 16:04

Sun in summer shocker.

Im game for a heatwave. But it had to rain plenty too to keep it fresh

PristineCondition · 29/04/2019 16:04

Has*

MadSweeney · 29/04/2019 16:06

having treated myself to an air conditioning unit last summer I'm all in for a heatwave.

SinglePringle · 29/04/2019 16:08

I know it’s unlikely and it’s the Fail but in the event it might be true...

BRING IT ON!

I’d be bloody delighted - I LOVED last summer.

AuntieStella · 29/04/2019 16:10

I was trying to find the mid/long range forecast on the Met Office site, and either I've been more than usually inept or it's very well hidden!

The tabloids ade me laught earlier this year when they kept running articles predicting SNOWMAGGEDON!!!!!!! seeming on the back of the Met Office's 'rain which may fall as snow on night ground'
