Private Smear Test

Has anyone had a private smear test and can give me a ball park idea of cost? I absolutely cannot get to the rare as hens teeth NHS appointments at my local surgery.

Do you have a sexual health centre nearby? They do smear tests.

I have been considering this as well for various reasons.

This probably sounds like a stupid question but if you have it done privately then do your NHS records get updated to show you've had it done?

The only private health care I have ever had was paying for my own counselling sessions.

My private GP charges £195 but I imagine that is towards the top end. I've had one at a BUPA clinic as part of a health check but not sure how much it would be individually. The results of that did end up on my NHS record although I have no idea how!

@Kpo58 None of the clinics in my whole county do smear tests any more. You have to go through the GP.
