Will I get paid for this?

I start a new job next week teaching in a HMPYOI. It is a cover position so I am not a permanent member of staff and I only get paid for my teaching hours. I am going in for a week long induction next week where I will be doing approximately 30 hours. Does anyone know if I will get paid for this? I can't find any mention in my contract.

I used to work in hmp. Is it Milton Keynes college still? If so, You'll get paid for your training but if you're sessional only you'll get training rate not teaching rate probably, (our training rate was about £9.50 an hour, not £24 teaching rate) plus you'll get paid a month in hand so if you submit your claim in May you'll get paid end of June.

Re: training/teaching- sorry I'm assuming this is your prison training (eg health and safety/safeguarding/ key training?)

Thanks.
This one is not Milton Keynes college, Manchester I think.
I think the training is a mixture of both - obviously the prison training but also lesson shadowing to understand the dynamics of the classroom. i think it is going to be a challenge!!
