What paperwork to keep?

Wage slips
Insurance
Pensions

Do I keep everything for ever? Just the last year of two? Have P60 etc and will keep them. Shredding lots of other stuff, too much paper. How much do you keep?

This guide is good:

Would keep the insurance stuff etc. for 2 years and anything tax related for two years after the end of the the tax year it relates to.

If you have access to a scanner you can scan a lot of stuff in rather than keeping hard copies, or you can take pictures providing the details are clear, and of course try and switch as much to paperless as possible (I don't think I've had a hard copy insurance document for ages for e.g.).

If you do go paperless, remember to back up all that stuff! For computer files, if it's not in three different physical locations it's as good as nonexistant.
