New public transport times don't match school dismissal time, wwyd?

I finish work at 2. The city bus times are all going to be changing and it's going to be an utter PITA.

There will be a bus at 14.05 which would get me to school for 14.35, which will be a bit miserable in bad weather but I don't think I'll catch it.

The bus after that is 14.35, so getting me to school at 15.05, when I will be late. I'm also concerned that that bus will be late and then I'll be even later.

WTF can I do? Apart from praying that the first bus is late? There's no precedent of anyone working flexi time. People do do it every now and again but not daily.

is it a bike distance? would that be an option?

I’d make a point of arriving 5 mins earlier and then leaving at 13:55, if it was possible, and read for a bit in the playground or at the bus shelter. Reception might let you wait there too if it’s raining.

Or I’d get a bike. The later bus won’t work.

I can't ride a bike very well Blush

I think I must push to leave at 14.55. I could come in earlier or take less lunchtime, whatever option is better.

I don't mind the wait, I'll just need a good winter jacket.

Sorry, 13.55.

Presume school finishes at 15:00? In which case is anyone going to really notice you arriving 5 minutes later? Could you mention to the teacher so they hand over other kids first so your DC isn't aware you're not there yet?
