Where is this geological tourist attraction?

Collective brains of MN, can anyone help me identify this place? I visited it sometime in the last ten years and I can't remember where it was! It is in a city, probably in Europe. You go up a street and on the right there is a sort of waterfall and lake surrounded by vegetation and rocks, and there is a sculpture commemorating a local hero placed in the rocks behind the lake. Slightly further on there is an entrance to a geological garden/museum where there are fossilised trees. And in the garden there is a rickety tower which is quite high but you can climb up inside it. Any ideas anyone? this is driving me crazy!

Yes!!! Thank you so much! Myrtleberry you are a star. I’ve been trying to remember for weeks. Was only in Lucerne briefly and that’s why I couldn’t work it out. Thank you again.
