About two weeks ago big kitten caught a mouse. Then last night another and today I saw one actually poke out from under the fireplace!

Kitty seems hot on catching them, so I’m worried about poison and making him sick. Traps seem pointless as if they pop out he’s more likely to get them than a trap.

Any tips? It’s a clean but old house with a fair bit of woodland around it. Part of me wonders if I’ve just noticed them as he’s got big enough to catch a few? Food is well packaged and I sweep up so there’s no encouragement, but the number of tiny entrance points and nest places nearby must be huge

Happens to the best of us. Wire wool and expanding foam is your friend here. Our cat is great but they have to sleep sometime. Get some good old fashioned snap traps. I can recommend big cheese pre-bated traps. Can catch a couple at a time and are only a fiver from amazon for a pair

We put down humane traps (dog was fascinated by them and did corner them a few times but let them then run away!) we found a large hole next to the tumble dryer vent which was resupplying the house with nice when we renovated. No mice since. They are pretty cute though

Put down traps with chocolate in them something sticky like mars bar. I have had mice a few times and this always caught them. I have a cat but she's useless it didn't stop the mice coming in! I had a few horror moments in the night with mice appearing in my bedroom I tell you I'd never moved so fast out of my bed!!
