Birthday cake for adult

Please could anybody recommend a recipe for a birthday cake I could make for my 50th? I need it to serve12 adults, although they will have had dinner at the local Italian restaurant too.
Chocolate always welcome but not a necessity. Must be able to survive short car ride. Medium skill level but nothing too challenging please. Would like it to look like I’ve made an effort though!
Please inspire me! I’m not in Europe if it makes any difference, can’t pop to Marks/ Tesco!

I’d make a chocolate cake with. Hoc fudge icing
Then around the sides put chocolate fingers/kitkats/matchmakers or whatever stick like chocolate you have where you are
Then on top just pile loads of matleasers/various chocolates

Very easy and looks good with minimal effort

This is wildly delicious and can be decorated anyway you like. I sometimes do an orange icing and decorate with finely chopped pistachios. Or serve with poached fruit and slightly sweetened creme fraiche.
