Salmon fillets one day out of date; yay or nay?

I think they’ll be okay. And they’re vacuum sealed as well. But really don’t want food poisoning.

How does salmon smell if it’s gone off, it’s been lightly smoked, which isn’t helping with the sniff test!

Yay. You won’t mistake the smell of gone off fish.

CottonSock · 26/04/2019 18:35

I would

KMoKMo · 26/04/2019 18:35

Yay. It’s only a day.

If smoked it would be hard to tell but if they were unopened I’d go for it (unless I was pregnant, which I am Smile, but if I wasn’t I would :) )

Yum hot smoked salmon 😋

ssd · 26/04/2019 18:35

Yay

Twickerhun · 26/04/2019 18:36

Do it. You’ll know if it’s off

Lauren83 · 26/04/2019 18:36

I would too

RogueV · 26/04/2019 18:37

Absolutely fine

Nottheduchess · 26/04/2019 18:38

Need to do the sniff test. You’ll know.

notacooldad · 26/04/2019 18:40

I'm assuming its vacuum packed and kept chilled. Do the smell test but yes it's ok.
If you have left them in a warm place I wouldnt ( if I ate salmon)

KetchupOnRoastDinner · 26/04/2019 18:40

Yes! It was either that or super noodles before going out, so I’ll stick the oven on.

Thanks, have a good evening everyone!

Yay !

You will know if it's off :)

Wolfiefan · 26/04/2019 18:45

I wouldn’t. You can’t smell everything that could make you ill.

TaurielTest · 26/04/2019 18:46

I totally would. Bon appetit.

BlueSkiesLies · 26/04/2019 18:53

Yes. Without a question. Unless they smell off, you’ll know when you open them.

onedayiwillmissthis · 26/04/2019 18:57

Careful if you are taking a PPI. Lower stomach acid means reduced ability to deal with food pathogens. This I discovered the hard way with some smoked salmon SadEnvynot envy

I would - and have, for the entire family, without a second thought. We are all still here!

Happilyacceptingcookies · 26/04/2019 18:58

I ate exactly this yesterday, out of date lightly smoked salmon fillets that were vacuum packed. Everyone is fine.
