Recommend me a family car

At the grand old age of 55 and after years of just needing to consider two adults when choosing a car I am in the position where I need to buy a family car, It will be for me, DP and a child, possibly a child with disabilities so we might need a decent sized boot for a wheelchair and possibly a dog (who would travel in the boot in a crate). Our budget is upto £10k.

Any suggestions would be gratefully received because we are talking ourselves round in circles.

Depending on wheelchair size we love our Mazda 6 estate. Its almost top of the range spec and if we sold (11 plate, 40k miles) would be worth about £5k, so you should be able to get a newer one for your budget.

Honda Civic...decievingly large boot!

We have a Zafira which is perfect for us - boot big enough for my wheelchair and our Labradoodle, back seat sits 3 teenagers (with minimal squabbling) and our most recent one is 3 years old, ex-motability, cost £8.5k and has low mileage which is important as dh drives a lot for work.

I shall add these to my list, thank you. It is good to have some personal recommendations to go with.

I'm on my second s max. The boot is enormous and cheap to repair and service.
Very comfortable.

We've had an S Max which was great, Vauxhall Zafira which was a bit smaller but still good and now getting Peugeot 5008. We have similar needs to you for large boot space and need 3 full seats in the back.
