smoked salmon defrosting advice

Bought some Ikea smoked salmon Monday eve and put it in cold fridge to defrost. Packaging says to allow it to defrost for 24 hours then eat within 1 day - this is a bit short, isn't it? I thought defrosted smoked salmon would be OK for at least 2 days in fridge after being defrosted??

Any food that is defrosted should be used within 24 hours. If you don't think you would use the whole thing at once you should freeze in smaller portions

I would leave it 2 days or longer. Trust your nose not the packaging

What's the texture like? If it's slimy, I'd abandon it!

I've eaten it over 2 days - usually buy frozen before Xmas, put in fridge Xmas eve to defrost and eat it the following 2 days as a starter.
