How to say 'thanks' to hubby

My poor DH has been unwell lately, he has a few different disability's and now a couple more have been added to the list! But he still works so hard and looks after me and DC (SAHM) he has bought me a 'new' car today and I want to thank him for being such a great husband & dad! The only problem is he doesn't have any hobby's, cant really eat anything! Doesn't drink or smoke etc!! I mean I would buy him some flowers but he would probably bin them 😂😂😂

What can I do to thank him and show him how loved he is!

I don’t know if your DH would enjoy but my DH made me “vouchers” for things I could “cash in” eg: shoulder massage, foot rub etc. I certainly felt loved because it was something that involved effort and not just a trip to the shop/ quick click on Amazon etc.!

Hope you enjoy your new car OP!

Boxed set to watch together? Clothing?

What does he get pleasure from? His life can't be all bleak austere selflessness I'm sure!

@MidnightLavender that sound like a good idea!!

@archivearmadillo he does like aftershave but want to get him a surprise, maybe I could get him a nice card and put a gift card in to get aftershave! I can never give him money he will either spend it on a family day out or buy the DC something! Haha xx

Giving your husband money would be properly weird, especially if you're a Sahm! Presumably you have joint finances unless the bombshell is that you're an heiress and haven't told him, which would be particularly cruel under the circumstances Wink

Just cook him his favourite dinner? Make it really nice and make a point of saying exactly what you've said to us

namechangedx · 25/04/2019 13:09

@archivearmadillo haha sorry! I am a SAHM but I also clean for my DM and DNan once a week so have a bit of cash that I save for his birthday etc 😁

@sparklefarts I would do that but his favourite meal is chicken carrots and rice! Not very adventurous haha x

A night out? Maybe to the cinema?

PH03b3 · 25/04/2019 13:25

A scrap book of your life together so far?

Short of that get rid of kids for the night and have a night in!

namechangedx · 25/04/2019 14:06

@ScatteredMama82 SIL is having DC next weekend as we are visiting them so maybe could take him out for his dinner then 😁

@PH03b3 good idea! Maybe ill order him a moon pig card he always loves those, he got upset when I moved his collection from his bedside drawer 😳 haha xx
