Help - screw snapped off, how do we get it out?

We are replacing our blinds, at the moment it’s Roman blinds. They have a baton that’s screwed into the top of the (wooden) window frame.

We’ve removed all but one. The last screw has snapped off inside the baton - we’ve taken out the head and the tiny length still attached but most of the very long screw is still through the baton and into the window frame.

If we pull on the wooden baton, it’s going to snap. Even if we did manage to pull it out, it’s going to really damage the window frame.

Any ideas / genius tricks here?

Drill it out with a suitable drill bit, then fill the hole.

Can you saw the baton to a short length so you can twist it round and round off the screw? Then you might be able to use plies to turn the snapped off screw and remove it from the wall.

I don’t think we’d be able to saw the baton off and turn it as it’s right up against the top of the window frame which is part of an inset bay window, so there’s no way to turn.

We are trying drilling at the moment - fingers crossed!
