My son is unwell and has been admitted to hospital. I'm in a bed next to him but can't sleep. Anyone awake?

Me!

It is scary when the kids are sick and even scarier when they need hospital care but they will do their best for him. How old is he?

BettySweaty · 25/04/2019 01:59

He's 14. Can't get his temp down. 40.5. Passed out in A&E. He's just gone to sleep.

I'm sooo awake... The sensible thing would be to sleep but it's not happening.

Yes I am - - rather more mundane reasons , but hope your son will be will be well soon. all best to you both Try to sleep if you can but I know that is easier said than done.

Hoe you feel better soon!

Just remembering not to take reasonable health for granted.

DH spent two nights in a chair beside his father - so ended up with a crick in his neck from sleeping awkwardly - but the nurses were brilliant - yes I agree re NHS.

DramaAlpaca · 25/04/2019 02:05

I'm just off to bed but wanted to send my best wishes to you & your boy. Hope he's feeling better soon x

BettySweaty · 25/04/2019 02:05

I've a put up bed next to ds. It was ready for us when we were transferred from another hospital.

I've taken my trainers off. They stink! Blush

I’m still awake too. Waiting for 15 yr old DS to get home from the cinema where he and his friends have gone to watch the new avengers film.
I too bloody love the NHS, have been the Mum in bed overnight next to DD not sleeping and sat in ED with DS having an asthma attack.
Hope your DS is better soon and getting under your feet and eating all your food 💐

BelulahBlanca · 25/04/2019 02:34

Hospitals are the worst to try and sleep in. I’m super nosy as well so that never helps me.
I’m up with baby, I’ve just started putting her in her cot last week so night feeds have made a reappearance Smile

DaisyDreaming · 25/04/2019 02:51

I hope your son improves over night and that tomorrow is a better day

Alicewond · 25/04/2019 03:15

How is your son, I hope you being close helps. Our NHS is one of the last British things we can be proud of 💕

pinkgloves · 25/04/2019 03:26

Bless you both.

I'm in the US but it's getting late here. Up because I'm still puking from the d&v bug from hell.

People have NO idea how great the NHS is. I always have to consider if something is urgent enough to pay for it.

I have secondary infertility and a severely prolapsed bladder but can't afford to get either treated.
