I know it's a bit bleurgh but having looked after a friend's pet for a few days, my floors need a really deep clean.
The pound shop used to sell zoflora, but doesn't seem to any more. Anyone know where I might be able to get some at a reasonable price?
Ditto variety shampoo. Not the cans of stuff, it's in a bottle, I remember we used to use it many years ago. Might be called 1001?

Our local happy Shopper still sells 1001, and you can get it online.

Hanumantelpiece · 24/04/2019 22:47

Ah thanks! I think we have a poundstretcher reasonably locally. Will check it out.
Can't wait to have the doors open wide tomorrow to air the place off.

Poundland do a knock off version which is just as good as genuine zoflora.

Be aware that there have been problems with Zoflora and pets

Thanks avocados
We don't have any pets usually. Just been looking after one for a few days. My carriers have been peed and crapped on multiple times and my allergies are paying up. Need to get rid of the animal smell.

A solution of bicarb of soda mixed with something soapy such as lemon washing up liquid is safe to use to use on animal carriers. They sell big boxes in Poundland.
For the kitchen floor I'd suck it up and use a cream cleaner, or lemon flash and a scratch pad.

Just spotted an autocorrect in my last post which makes it misleading.
My carpets have been soiled by the pet. The pet has its own carrier, in which it has now returned home.
Kitchen floor has been zoflora'd. I found some powder stuff to put on the carpet (having spot cleaned thoroughly), and have just hoovered that all up.

1001 do a pet version too. Zoflora is safe to use as long as it has dried before pets walk on it.

Processedpea · 25/04/2019 17:02

Our savers sells zoflora

MarthasGinYard · 25/04/2019 17:08

I get mine from home bargains and also Superdrug

AvocadosBeforeMortgages · 25/04/2019 17:34

I'd get a pet specific enzymatic cleaner for the carpets. You don't want even a residual smell to linger there as it will encourage other dogs to wee there in the future, lamppost style.

MadSweeney · 25/04/2019 18:09

The better one for carpets is the 1001 foam spray. Smells really nice and does the job. The powder is ok but I find it tends to hang around in the hoover and smell a bit doggy.
Aldi have it in occasionally on offer.

Hanumantelpiece · 25/04/2019 20:56

I'll look out for that next time I'm in Also, thanks Mad

Bloody autocorrect. It said ALDI when I hit 'post'.
