Had surgery then a week later found out I was pregnant

Hi all, so 28th feb - I have a hernia repair, they do a pregnancy test - Negative! The operation goes ahead - all fine no issues, came home the same day! About a week later, I start bleeding think that’s my period coming late, due operation. No sooner was it there, it was gone! A couple of days later I just didn’t feel right, I bought a pregnancy test, and there I was with a positive result - 5/6 weeks pregnant!!! Has this happened to anyone else, were there any issues after operation/during pregnancy?
I’m starting to feel more pain as the baby is starting to move up near to my scar from repair - it hurts more than it when I had operation.

It's unlikely someone has been in the exact same situation and MN is not really going to give you any reassuring answers.

You need to see your doctor/surgeon ASAP.

Not the exact same situation but I got run over when I was newly pregnant - again hospital did a pregnancy test which came back negative. I had xrays, morphine and a general anesthetic while they reset my broken nose - so not abdominal surgery but still surgery.

I found out I was pregnant about two weeks later and was very worried. Went to the doctors and they sent me for an early scan. All was well and DS2 is now a healthy 6 year old. But you should definitely get checked out ASAP

I’ve been checked out baby is fine and doctors/midwife, dont really seem concerned. I was just wondering if anyone had been in a similar situation.

Not me, but it happened to a friend.

She had an operation and must have conceived very shortly before it. Wondered why she was still feeling rough a few weeks later then discovered she was pregnant. The baby was born a few weeks early but doubt this was related. Said baby is now a beautiful, healthy twenty something adult.

Happened to me with Ds1, had abdominal surgery, test negative before I went down to theatre. Didn’t find out till 6 weeks later & when had scans (routine not early) turns out I was about 7 weeks at time of the op. All fine, he’s sat on the sofa wittering about plants v zombies as I type.
