Staying in New Forest area for next couple of days. Came to visit Peppa Pig world which we did today but it's raining for next couple of days now. Would really appreciate some rainy day places / activities in the area for toddlers please? TIA

Beaulieu Motor Museum

Short trip to Southampton for Sea City or Solent Sky Museum

Frankies Fun Factory, Romsey is a pretty nice soft play.

Also Romsey Rapids swimming, though check opening times for the pool as the main one is used for school lessons in term times.

Poppies Crafts at Choice Plants garden centre just north of Romsey. Decopatch where you can stick bits of paper onto model animals. (Depending on age of your toddlers).

Cinemas in Southampton, eg Odeon Leisure World

If not massively damp then Longdown Activity farm is good, you can bottle feed animals, and they have a play barn too.

Eastleigh Lakeside

  • ride on trains (check whether they are running as not full season)
  • radio controlled sailing boats racing a.m. (spectator only)
  • playground

The good play cafe in southbourne used to be good. Oasis fun is another soft play type place in Bournemouth

TeenTimesTwo · 23/04/2019 22:05

Sealife Centre in Bournemouth also

Hi There,

I live in Romsey and there are plenty of things to do around. The museum of army flying is an excellent day out and reasonably priced. It has just undergone a refurb and looks great.

New forest wildlife park is excellent too but is outdoors so wear waterproofs.

The activity centre at Calshot is indoors and they have lots going on!

Elisheva · 23/04/2019 22:21

Portsmouth has The Pyramids swimming, a Sealife centre and a soft play near the pier.

NeverTwerkNaked · 23/04/2019 22:25

Solent Sky is a great museum staffed by friendly volunteers and my kids love going there.
Marwell zoo? Obviously partly outside but there are some good indoor bits too?
milestones is good if you are happy to drive up to basingstoke
Fort nelson for a free day out and tunnels to explore

TheClaifeCrier · 23/04/2019 22:26

Winchester Science museum is ace and not too far from you.

NeverTwerkNaked · 23/04/2019 22:30

Oh yes the Winchester science museum is excellent!

@Mumof1andacat what age would you say it's suitable for please? It's hard to tell from the photos.

MegBusset · 23/04/2019 22:46

New Forest Centre in Lyndhurst is a fab, free museum - great for toddlers. It's right next to the town car park. There's a library next door though not open every day, I don't think.

TeenTimesTwo · 24/04/2019 11:23

Given it has been chucking it down for an hour, I hope the OP has gone somewhere nice with shelter. Smile
