Im always a late online filer (can be 31/1)😂.

Those of you who are good and file it early as in May/June, do you have to pay the bill immediately or do you have until the 31/1 to pay it?

The payment is ex's toy the same regardless of when you file, so payments on account (if you have to make them) on 31 Jan and 31 Jul and final payment on 31 Jan.

Payment dates are exactly the same regardless of when you file the return. So long as you have paid the full amount by each deadline (July and January) you can pay a bit towards it weekly/monthly/whenever.

Agree with what the others say regarding payments. However HMRC will give you a pitiful about of interest for the amounts you have paid ahead of January, you will be better off paying the money into a savings account each month and earn better interest and then pay your tax over in January.

I'd also say that I've have instances where clients have paid in advance and HMRC have issued a refund, despite the payment being already noted on the system as due in the future!
