Help. I hate the way my body looks!

Didn't have that many during pregnancy up until about 35 weeks where suddenly lots of them appeared all over my stomach.

I actually feel disgusted looking at my own body and I'm really struggling to cope with at the moment.

I know I shouldn't be so hard on myself as I'm growing a full human being in there but it's so difficult.

How did you all cope with your stretch marks? Sad

They are the marks to commemorate the amazing job you and your body are doing.

Daffodil2018 · 23/04/2019 17:33

They will fade, and you will be able to cover them up using fake tan. But honestly, they are a badge of honour and most mums have them. Nothing to be ashamed of!

I had the scariest looking stretchmarks all over my tummy with DS1. I literally looked like I'd been forced through a cheese grater. They were a bright, shocking red and I remember collapsing in tears when a midwife gasped, asked why I hadn't used cream and brought another nurse in to 'look!!!!'

Honestly, I swear they faded to the palest, palest silver within 18 months. He is 7 now and you can only see them if ..ahem.. u are very close. My belly button is misshapen beyind repair but I'm actually quite fond of it now Grin

Weirdly,I didnt get a single new stretchmark with DS2 4.5 years later.I'm guessing cos DS1 already wore me in Grin

Please don't worry OP.I promise they will fade.

I looked like Virgin Trains had run a whole new network round me... in purple! 4 kids and they each gave me stretch marks in new places.. stomach, thighs and even calves (I may have over eaten in that pregnancy!!)

They all faded to silver. Ok my stomach is never going to be flat and smooth like it was before children but it's not a thing of horror either.

Yours will fade!

Chancewouldbeafinethlng · 23/04/2019 18:32

They will fade and won’t be half as noticeable.

I like to follow people on Instagram that have ‘normal’ bodies but flaunt them. There are loads that have stretch marks, overhangs etc but still feel great about themselves. It makes me feel better.

YeOldeTrout · 23/04/2019 18:36

I like mine (sorry, token weirdo). Very silvery. LIke being a tiger!

Thank ladies, now I feel a little better. I've been applying cream but to no avail, I know there technically isn't anything that can prevent them or fade them right now.

I just hope they don't stay so pink after the birth

I have a big one up the side of my tummy which I find quite pretty now - it's all silver and ethereal. It was a horrid red/purple thing but v much faded.

Sometimes dds look at my tummy and ask how/why I have stripes. I turn, give them evils and say YOU in my scariest voice and make them fetch me a drink as punishment. Good times.
