Where to buy glasses from.

I have got to bite the bullet and get myself some glasses , I mostly need them for reading. I considered getting some off the peg one's but the sight in my left eye is very different from my right so they won't do.
Where did you get yours from ?

I would like the type that tint in the sun , are they worth the extra money ?
I know it depends on the frames but what is the average price for glasses nowadays

I only wear mine for driving so just got the basic range at specsavers. I think it was about £70 for 2 or you could have special things done to the lense if you wanted one pair.

I’m cheap so just wear sunglasses over the top of my glasses 😬

I get mine from Asda as they are so reasonably priced. I get two pairs for £120, but they do a value range at £40 a pair as well

I went to Specsavers recently as my eyesight was rapidly deteriorating and it was the only place that had an appointment within the next few days.

They really were fantastic. I got two pairs of glasses for £69, eye test was £25. They offered me all the different lens options, the sort of things you’re talking about, but I can’t remember what the cost was. Think I’m going to get another pair (they gave me voucher for 50% off another pair of glasses) with reflections type tinting or some sunglasses.

The cheapest range were £49, from £69 up you get 2 for 1. They then went up: £99, then designer ones for £129 upwards. The £99 ones upwards have the double hinges so the arms can bend back, which I really wanted, but the only frames I liked were in the £69 range!

Thanks for your replys , i thought they would be more expensive than the prices suggested.

I would of never thought of asda for glasses I have got a big store near work so I will call in one day next week.
It will be nice to be able to type with out having my phone 6 inches from my nose ! Blush

We went to our normal optician for the test which was boots, she didnt like any glasses there so we shopped around

If they are for reading, I wouldn't have thought you'd need / want tinted lenses - they are useful if you need to wear them walking around.
