Any Charlie Dimmocks around? Or anyone who had gardening work done recently? How much should I expect to pay for this?

Small garden at front of terraced house.

10.5 x 14ft. It's literally just soil at the minute. I want it to be lawn. With maybe a modest border.

Am about to start ringing round but have been disappointed in past by being quoted ridiculously high prices for seemingly small jobs and have never been able to afford to have them done so want to be prepared this time and to be able to tell the difference between reasonable and unreasonable.

We had a local garden nursery do some work for us, it was hedge cutting and some maintenance as we were away. They are a reputable company and they charge £19 per hour and send two people so it’s £38 for an hours work. I’m pretty sure they charge the same for landscape work plus you’d have the cost of turf, plants and any rubbish removal. There maybe a design cost depending on what you actually want.
I’d be more inclined to go through a nursery or a reputable landscape gardener rather than a “gardener’ from the local paper/Facebook page who probably doesn’t know much knowledge about plants. If you’re paying good money you want something to look good long term.
