Sunglasses Help Please

I'm posting on here in the hope someone can help

My daughter is 7. Her Grandad got her some sunglasses a few weeks ago. She loved them. They fitted her really well, in the past sunglasses have been uncomfortable for her because on one eye they touched her eyelashes, but these were perfect.

There was a school trip 2 weeks ago and all the kids took sunglasses and a hat. It was the first time DD had taken them out and she was so proud to show her friends.

A bigger kid broke and scratched them on purpose. The trip was made up of 3 years, and apparently the bigger kid came over and laughed and broke them.

DD came home from the trip very upset.

My Dad has been back to the Tescos and the 2 other Tescos in the area but none of them have them.

So I'm hoping someone can please help. If anyone shops in Tesco and they have a clothing department would you mind having a look please.

I can bank transfer or paypal you.

They are from the womens section of F & F
About £7

She got them at the start of March so somewhere might have them still in stock.

I, and DD, would be very grateful if anyone can help.

I hope you complained about the lack of supervision on the trip and for the bully to be punished.

I will try and have a look tomorrow for you.

That’s just downright nasty what that kid has done.

SunglassesHelpPlease · 23/04/2019 17:00

I did. He snapped one of the arms off and then scraped them back and forth across the ground, scratching all the lenses. I was not happy.

Thanks Flowers

We've been to 2 more tescos today. No joy yet :(

I would contact Tesco on Facebook and see if they could track them down in a store!

What is it with children today?

I never encountered anything like this when I was a child in the 1970s.

Boys sometimes had fights after school which lasted all of two minutes as the noise of everyone chanting, “FIGHT! FIGHT!FIGHT!” got the attention of a teacher or someone’s dad and it was soon broken up and the boys would then be mates again the next day.

There was none of this spiteful and lasting grudge behaviour that I hear about today.

My children are adults and were not bullied but I did see and hear some incidents about other children and on a school trip I witnessed one git of a child behave appallingly towards others and I took him aside to speak to him by guiding his upper arm and pulling him away from the others.

He was as big as me and had booted some of the other children and made one girl cry with the kick. No provocation he just kicked others for fun.

When I told him off he smirked and said he knew his rights and I couldn’t stop him doing whatever he wanted. I told him that rule applies to the teachers who could lose their jobs but those rules didn’t apply to me and I was happy to pull his trousers down in front of the other children and wallop him and give them all a laugh.

Obviously I would never have done that but I called his bluff and he backtracked and said sorry and behaved himself for the rest of the trip.

Later on I heard him ask my son if I had been in the army and my son caught on and said yes I had and not to mess with me. Ha ha ha

No I’ve never been in the army and the git of a child whenever he saw me up at the school would come and say hello to me and be as nice as pie! Sadly, there were incidents at the school with him acting like a thug.

Anyway back to the glasses, there are two superstores I can check for you.

It was just so mean.

DD often plays with bigger kids. She's a real social butterfly. Apparently she was playing with a big girl, and from what I can make out the boy was trying to impress the bigger girl because he liked her, and this was how he got the bigger girls attention.

I bet that really impressed her... NOT!

Its on the list.
Fingers crossed.

MrsKrabbapple · 24/04/2019 15:58

Maybe you should start a new thread with something like 'is anyone going to Tesco?' or something like that as a title. I've seen people on MN find all sorts over the years. Most recently a mug from Clintons that was years old.

FiremanKing · 24/04/2019 16:30

Give me five mins I’m about to pop in one.

Fingers crossed

EleanorLavish · 24/04/2019 16:40

I’m in tesco and I’ve got them!!

FiremanKing · 24/04/2019 16:47

Well done Eleanor!

They’re not in the one I’m in!

EleanorLavish · 24/04/2019 17:36

Also, you can tell your dd that there are lovely people in the world like Eleanor and that can be what she remembers about her rainbow sunglasses rather than the mean boy who broke them.

SunglassesHelpPlease · 24/04/2019 18:56

Eleanor is indeed amazing and DD will certainly equate her rainbow glasses to the lovely lady :)
