My DP is achey, particularly in back.

Thinking to book him a massage treatment, but not sure which type to go for.

Any advice greatly appreciated!

I''d also really want to know! If I don't go for a sports massage (which sounds wrong as I've not anything remotely sporty), will it just be smelly oils and light touching? I'd need some hammering, I think...

I’m a sports therapist, and carry out sports massage every day. It’s not just aimed at athletes, it is centred around deep tissue massage and fascia release. From what you’re saying I’d say book in for a sports massage, if you find it too invasive or sore the therapist should be able to alter their approach to still work out any knots without causing pain. Sports massage can be uncomfortable as it works quite deep but it shouldn’t cause real pain to you.

Thank you for your input, rock. That’s very helpful.
