Help! Shall I defrost the mince now?

I don't usually freeze meat so no idea on this.

DD wants mince for dinner tomorrow night. Shall I take it out of the freezer now and leave out overnight? Or take out before work in the morning and leave on the bench to defrost during the day?

TIA

Take put nw and put in the fridge. Safer than leaving out on the side. Especially in this weather

Nothing I ever defrost in the fridge actually defrosts,it would take days. I get whatever I want out last thing at night and leave on the counter over night and then first thing in the morning put it in the fridge to be used later.

I just cook mince from frozen.

Agree that if you put it in the fridge it will still be frozen tomorrow evening, but if you leave it out overnight and put it in the fridge in the morning it will be fine.

Make sure you don't forget. I can't leave things on the counter due to the cats - lesson learned years ago finding chewed up half frozen chicken breast on the kitchen floor, so would put it in the microwave or a cupboard and leave a note to put it in the fridge in the morning, otherwise I would forget.

My kitchen is really warm as the sun has been blasting in all day. I've put it in the fridge and will check it in the morning.

Fab idea about microwave. No pets here but kitchen is warm. I'll put it in the microwave where it's cooler and then put back in the fridge in the morning.

Thanks Smile
