VIbration plate exercise machine

Does anyone use a domestic version of those vibration plates at the gym? Our cross trainer has just broken and I'm wondering what to get instead. We aren't fit- I have joint problems and a weak core. DH has very poor core stability and balance. So this seems a good option.

Has anyone tried one? They range from £150 to £2000.

I've got one. Mines the Reviber plus from Argos and is currently £169.99 I'm sure it was £200+ when I bought 2 years ago.

I saw good results (inch loss wise) but that was combined with diet and exercise so how much was down to the vibro plate I'm not sure.

We've got it as a addition to some gym equipment and both me and DH use it as a cool down and I do my stretches on it.

I would recommend having a look on eBay / gumtree as I've seen some going cheap in our area.

That sounds hopeful! We won't be using other exercise equipment, it's more to loosen joints and muscles, and also activate core.

Do you feel it affects your core?

Yes I think it has helped my core. I've got a slightly arched back and my posture is pretty awful and I'm sure it helped. I do use it for lots of different stretches. Yoga posses id say.

But it definitely does loosen joints and muscles. I can't not use it after a run as it really does loosen me up. Otherwise I will be aching like crazy all over for days.

I'd say if you get one build up the intensity as going at it full blast will rattle your teeth.

Duck, have you got the one with the handles? I was looking at the handle one, but realised we can put it next to a landing balustrade so may not need them.

This is the one I have. It's got elastic hand thingies. I've never used them.
